St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center has been providing quality preschool programs for children ages three to five since 1987. Our carefully structured environment offers a balanced day of play-based learning and guided teaching activities from our curriculum, which incorporates all aspects of the PA Early Learning Standards to foster kindergarten readiness. We incorporate age-appropriate activities that will inspire, motivate, and prepare your child for their next stage of learning. We strive to build an environment in which children learn through play and begin to make the transition from home to school. Our goal is to establish a classroom setting that reflects the values of caring for each other, our community, and our environment. A typical day includes self-guided play, center time, art, large group/circle time, music/movement activities, snack, and a trip to the outdoor play space. Classroom activities and choices within the centers are organized by the curriculum and monthly themes.

Children are exposed to a variety of themes integrating language experiences, mathematical explorations, science inquiry, social studies, and Christian Education concepts. Emphasis is placed on the use of manipulatives, hands-on learning and encouraging observation, questioning, and thinking skills. We strive to develop a child’s self-esteem/self competence and promote positive feelings towards learning. We facilitate successful communication and self-control skills where the child knows the limits and expectations for behavior. We provide an atmosphere which promotes respect for self and others.
The safety of our children, parents, and staff is our top priority. This is reflected in our building, security equipment, and staff requirements. SACLC is licensed by the PA Department of Human Services and we meticulously meet or exceed all licensing standards for staff requirements, teacher/student ratios, and fire and safety regulations. We receive an annual on-site inspection and undergo surprise spot checks throughout the year to ensure compliance. Our school is subject to inspection by state and city health, fire, licensing, and building agencies. A copy of our license, current DHS regulations, and our Emergency Operations Plan are available on-site for your review.
