Our Mission

St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center was chartered by the Vestry of St. Alban’s Church to be part of the mission and outreach of the church. Our facilities feature spacious, bright, and modern classrooms, a fenced playground, a qualified and educated teaching staff, and a classroom ratio of 1:10.  We strive to provide a healthy, well directed Christian environment in which children may begin to develop an awareness of God’s presence in all aspects of life, and there by begin their maturing process into happy, healthy, responsible Christian children. The mission of St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center is to touch our community for Christ, one child and one family at a time.

Philosophy

St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center’s learning environment and preschool education philosophy is based on the latest research regarding social and emotional development, how children think and learn, and on the principles of physical development. Our dedicated and experienced teachers have created an environment that fosters learning by combining current research of child development and effective educational practices. The focus of the education is determined by the academic and developmental readiness of each child. We present opportunities for learning which is tailored for the readiness of the children as individuals and as a group. We believe that children learn best through play, interaction, and repetition. The needs and interests of the children directly influence the themes and activities we plan. Amid a community of learners, children will gain knowledge in the areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, and Christian Education . Our preschool classroom is set up in learning centers, with carefully planned activities to correlate with a monthly theme that facilitates learning and provide opportunities to master early learning concepts. Aligning our curriculum with the PA Early Learning Standards helps provide your child a seamless transition to kindergarten.

Faith

Children of all faith traditions, including none, are welcome and embraced at St. Alban’s Christian Learning Center. Positive moral values are taught to our students and undercut our entire curriculum. SACLC strives to teach children respect, gratitude, understanding, and forgiveness. The children attend weekly chapel and are invited throughout the year to participate in philanthropy to assist the communities we serve. We strive to empower children by identifying, acknowledging, and appreciating the talents of each child and help them understand that they are accepted and valued for their uniqueness.
